A passenger laptop caught fire on a US flight and the investigation is ongoing


A JetBlue plane had to be evacuated after a passenger's laptop caught fire at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport. 

According to the Associated Press, officials said the plane was en route to the Terminal 5 gate when a laptop battery caught fire. 

On this JetBlue flight from Bridgetown, Barbados, the crew immediately extinguished the fire. The rescue team then evacuated the aircraft using the emergency glide system. According to officials, seven passengers suffered minor injuries. 

"Safety remains our top priority," JetBlue said in a statement. The incident is being investigated with the assistance of the FAA and NTBS. 

After this incident, panic spread among the passengers.
