Tokyo: After the corona epidemic and the lockdown, the strange competition to make children cry, dubbed the "sumo competition", was reorganized in Japan.
About four years later, the competition was held again, in which children are made to cry because crying keeps them healthy and happy. This often frightens children and makes them cry.
The executives wear masks of a monster called "Ooni" and the children dress up as sumo wrestlers and present themselves to men with scary faces. This time the competition was held at the Sensoji Temple in Tokyo.
Meanwhile, the referee holds a thin wooden fan and the child who cries first is declared the winner. The referee waves a wooden fan to announce the child's victory.
The mother of an eight-month-old girl said the Japanese can judge children's health by their cries. He said his daughter didn't cry openly today.
It should be noted that "crying sumo" is practiced with slight variations in each region of Japan.
According to the administration, some people criticize the festival, but in Japanese culture, children who openly cry and scream are healthier than others throughout their lives.
The winner of the contest will be either the first child or the last child to cry as rules may vary from country to country.
