In the US state of Virginia, seven police officers have been charged in the death of a black prisoner.

Due to the deteriorating mental condition of the prisoner, he was taken from prison to the hospital for treatment. 

According to the preliminary autopsy report, inmate Eru Otieno's death was due to lack of oxygen or asphyxiation. 

Video of Otieno clearly showing the cause of death was shown to his family on Thursday. Prisoner Ervo Otieno's mother said at a news conference: "Although Otieno was suffering from a mental illness, today I saw his heart. It's unsettling.
