From Xiaomi Redmi's newborn catalog came out in the first week of October one of the first devices from the brand's A series. The phone, dubbed Xiaomi Redmi A1 Plus, has been making the rounds on the global market for a few weeks now, offering a biometric lock, a semi-premium design, a powerful MediaTek chipset and more.
According to an insider rumor and speculation from the typical Redmi debut cycle, the Redmi A1+ is set to launch in Pakistan. The price and launch date have not yet been confirmed. Here is a detailed summary of its specifications.
Although the price of the Xiaomi phone is relatively low, it feels well made and offers good specs. It's built around a 6.52-inch IPS flat panel with HD+ resolution and offers a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m², a touch sample rate of 120 Hz and an NTSC color space of 70%. The most attractive feature of the A1+ is its large 5000 mAh battery, which lasts up to 30 days on standby and 30 hours of video playback (advertised).
The MediaTek Helio A22 processor, 3 GB of LPDDR4X memory, 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage and the PowerVR GPU make the Redmi A1 Plus a standout in the budget smartphone lineup. Although not yet confirmed, the 3GB plus 32GB variant should cost around PKR 19,000.
In addition to an 8MP + 0.3MP main camera, the phone has a 5MP selfie shooter on the front, with recording limited to 1080p at 30fps. However, the AI built into the lightweight Android 12 GO interface can help with photography and videography. The upcoming handset is expected to cost the same as the Xiaomi Redmi 10A in Pakistan, but the exact retail tag will be revealed after the launch.
