Xiaomi Poco X5 5G visits FCC and BIS databases; Starting with Android 13 by default |
After the eventful launch of the Poco M5 in the global market, rumors of a new POCO M4 Pro cousin are doing the rounds on the internet. It is said to be the successor to Poco's popular X4 Pro 5G, called the X5 5G. More than a month ago, the phone appeared in multiple listings under two specific model numbers.
Apparently Xiaomi's Poco X5 5G is numbered "22101320G" for global and "22101320C" for its Chinese nickname. The latter will debut as a Redmi series phone in China. In the latest news, the X5 5G has appeared in the BIS and FCC databases, indicating the upcoming launch and revealing its plan and core.
On the plan, the X5 5G features a ribbon-shaped camera plate that perfectly aligns with the top left corner of the phone. Instead of the traditional round shape, its hull has jagged corners.
The leaked information also includes the battery statistics of the new 5G Xiaomi phone. The upcoming Poco model has a 4900 mAh cell under the hood, which the brand will likely advertise with a rounded figure of 5000 mAh. The FCC database also revealed the X5's communications and wireless connectivity specifications.
Among the wireless stats, the phone has dual-band WiFi and a 5G antenna designed for the n5, n7, n38, n41, n77 and n78 bands. The most notable statistic in the FCC filing is the support for Android 13 x MIUI 14 right out of the box. Other than that, there's nothing in the lists worth painting.
Over the past few weeks, the rumor mill has been slowly working on the phone's manifesto. Based on the leaked information, the X5 5G will feature a 120Hz IPS panel, followed by a powerful Snapdragon 778G+ 5G chip. There's no word yet on price, launch schedule, save options, or colors. However, information is expected to flow soon. So stay tuned.
