As the launch date approaches, more confirmed leaks are appearing around the web. One of those leaks, coming from Weibo, revealed the chain's revamped naming scheme. The range was originally supposed to come from the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro and the range is now being launched as the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro.
Suggestively, the break comes from an image of a box full of retail boxes with labels from Xiaomi 14. The real-time view is combined with the expected key specs that abound in the newcomers. This is a screenshot of the area around the Mi 14 (2211133C).
Based on the image, the expected addition to Xiaomi's tariff list runs the Android 13 operating system update based on MIUI 14, maxed out at the October security level. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 12GB of RAM.
Although the legitimacy of both images has been questioned, it looks like Xiaomi is doing something to avoid a downward spiral in sales. Since the number 13 is a bad omen in most regions, smartphone companies often try to prevent these numbers from appearing on their products.
According to a previous report, the rumored Mi 14 and Mi 14 Pro plan to sport 6.26-inch and 6.7-inch AMOLED displays, respectively.
