New restrictions on other personalities including the 'girlfriend' of US President Putin

The United States has blacklisted the alleged girlfriend of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the owner of London's second largest estate in a new round of sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine. 

Several other key Russian figures believed to be close to President Putin have also been hit by US business sanctions. 

The US has also imposed sanctions on figures Russia has linked to occupied territories in Ukraine.

In addition, almost a number of Russian high-tech institutes, companies and electronics institutions have also been hit by US sanctions. 

The US Treasury Department has announced sanctions on billionaire Andrei Grigorievich Guriev, a friend of President Putin, who owns Buckingham Palace. 

The latter owns the second largest estate in London, Wittenhurst. Guriev is the founder and former deputy chairman of the world's largest supplier of fertilizers, Foss Agro. 

After the US sanctions, the assets of Guriev and his son are now in American banks. will be seized and companies and individuals having business relations with them will also face difficulties in transactions with American banks. 

The US also blacklisted Guriev's Caribbean-based 81-meter yacht Alfa Nero, which threatens to impound it. 

However, the United States said Alpha Nero had reportedly turned off its location-tracking hardware to avoid seizure. 

Natalya Popova, the wife of manager Karil Dmitriev, has also been banned.

According to the Treasury Department, Popova works for the technology firm Inuprektika, which is run by one of Putin's daughters.
