The Afghanistan Cricket Board says that four people were injured as a result of an explosion in the main cricket stadium of Kabul during a domestic league match.
ACB Chief Executive Naseeb Khan said in a statement that an explosion occurred during a match between two teams in the Shapiza League. Four civilians in the crowd have been injured.
He further said that 'Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) staff and all players were safe in this blast.
Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said, "The blast was carried out by a hand grenade, after which the game was stopped for a few minutes.
This year's edition of the Shapiza Cricket League was held after the Taliban took control in August last year. The tournament is the first of its kind.
The eight teams in the Shapiza Cricket League include several players from the Afghanistan national team.
