Four people were killed and more than 300 were injured when a stand collapsed during a bullfight

The stand was full of spectators at the time of the accident.

Authorities in the South American country of Colombia say four people have been killed and more than 300 injured when a large spectator stand collapsed during a bullfight.

"Four people died instantly, including two women, a man and a child," the governor of Tolima told local radio after the crash.

Pictures surfaced on social media showing a three-story wooden stand full of spectators collapsing and dozens of people falling to the ground. Another video shows people trying to flee the stand.

According to Tolima's health secretary, 322 injured people have been treated at hospitals in the area, four of them in critical condition.

Local civil defense officials said. They do not know how many people are still buried under the rubble, but they know that when the stand fell, it was full of people.

The event was part of the San Pedro Festival celebrations, which are very popular in the region.

Outgoing Colombian President Ivan Duke said on Twitter: "We will call for an investigation to find out what happened."

What is the expression of solidarity with the families of the injured?
