Five people have been reported injured in a shooting at an underground train station in New York City, USA, on Tuesday morning.
According to local media, the shooting took place at 36:30 in the area of Sunset Park at 8.30 am on Tuesday.
Photographs from the scene show blood-soaked passengers lying on the floor.
Some unexploded ordnance (UXO) was also found at the underground railway station.
An unidentified gunman involved in the attack is on the run, and efforts are under way to find him.
The unidentified man is said to have been wearing a Maltese jacket and a dominant gas mask.
New York mayor's spokesman Eric Adam has urged New Yorkers to stay away from the area so that aid workers do not face any difficulties.
At least four train services have been temporarily suspended.
The New York Fire Department told it had initially received reports of smoke rising from the station, but when officers arrived, they found people wounded by gunfire.
