Local price rises despite world lowest gold prices

KARACHI: Despite the fall in the price of gold in the international market, local gold traders have been wisely raising prices.

On the second day of trading on the international market, the price of gold per ounce fell by $13 to reach $1,925. 

Gold prices rose by Rs 1,300 and Rs 1,115 per tola and per 10 grams in local precious metals markets on Wednesday, despite a slump in the international market. 

As a result, the gold price per tola in Karachi, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta rose to 190,600 rupees and the gold price per ten grams to 163,409 rupees.
