Who will be the five most expensive foreign players in IPL?

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) begins in March next year, but the player draft for this mega event will take place on December 23rd.

Around 405 of the world's best players will be auctioned off in the draft on Friday, December 23rd. Ten IPL teams (franchises) will attend the draft ceremony, which will be held in Kochi, Kerala, India.

Who will be the five most valuable players in the world in this tournament?

Ben Stokes

England left-handed batsman Ben Stokes last played in the 2021 IPL but had to pull out of the campaign mid-season through injury and subsequently missed the 2022 mega match

The England Tests captain was instrumental in his side's T20 World Cup victory in November and then guided England to a historic Test series win over Pakistan in December.

Ben Stokes, 31, played for the Rajasthan Royals for over $1.9 million in 2018 and this year's auction starts at $246,000.

Sam Curran

England all-rounder Sam Curran was named Player of the Tournament for his bowling at the recent T20 World Cup.

Sam Curran previously played for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL but was unable to take part in the 2022 tournament due to injury.

As a batsman, Sam Curran has a batting average of around 150 and will join compatriot Ben Stokes in the IPL's most expensive player list this year and Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will also boast as Sam Curran. Become part of their team.

Cameron Green

The 23-year-old Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is also entering the race for the most expensive players in the IPL.

In the last series against India, Cameron Greene showed the essence of his bowling and batting, scoring 118 runs in that series with a batting average of 214.54.

Nicholas Pooran

West Indies' Nicholas Pooran has played in T20 leagues around the world and after his team's disappointing performance at the last T20 World Cup he too stepped down as captain.

It was also released by the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad and will be auctioned again in the Player Draft.

Nicholas Pooran has a batting average of 141 in T20 cricket and joins his West Indian compatriot Jason Holder in the list of the IPL's most expensive players.

Riley Russo

South Africa's left batter Riley Rossouw has been in superb form in recent games, scoring centuries aggressively against India and Bangladesh in October alone.

Riley Russo is well known in T20 leagues around the world but he has only played IPL twice in his career in 2014 and 2015.

His name was also in last year's draft, but neither team bought it. Given his aggressive punches this time, he's expected to become one of the big names in the IPL.
