the whole nation took to the streets to welcome the national team players to the capital, Rabat.
Team members were picked up in a special open-top bus and taken on a tour of Rabat's key areas. Fireworks were set off wherever the team bus passed, while crowds gathered on either side of the street.
Along with the players, coach Waleed al-Rakaraki responded by shaking hands with the singers and arriving in procession at the Imperial Palace. King Mohammed VI greeted the team and in addition to congratulating each player, each player was presented with the royal coat of arms.
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan team reached the semi-finals with an outstanding performance at the World Cup. This historic achievement was first accomplished in Arabia and Africa. No Arab or African team has reached the semi-finals before.
