Shahid Afridi has been appointed Chief Selector of Pakistan Cricket Team

The Pakistan Cricket Board's Administrative Committee has appointed former cricketer Shahid Afridi as the interim chairman of the National Cricket Team Selection Committee.

Other members of the selection panel include former cricketers Abdul Razzaq and Rao Iftikhar Anjum, while Haroon Rasheed will be the convener, according to a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday.

PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi said, "I welcome the Interim Selection Committee and there is no doubt that despite the time constraints, they will take bold decisions that will give us a strong and strong team in the series against New Zealand. This helps build a competitive team.

He said that Shahid Afridi was an aggressive cricketer who played all his cricket without fear. He has twenty years of experience in cricket, has achieved success in all formats and, most importantly, has always encouraged young talent.

As such, we share the view that no one understands the rigors, challenges and expectations of the modern era of cricket better than him.
