The OPPO A58 blew the lid in China last month with a slim side profile, 50MP camera, 720p display and Dimensity 700 SoC at heart. The A-series competitor has now received an underperforming brother in the domestic market dubbed OPPO A58x 5G.
The design queues in the A58x are similar to those of the original A58. The only noticeable difference is the pill-shaped glossy highlight under the lens. The A58 has an elongated accent, while the accent on the A58x is limited to camera extensions.

Camera lineup is another department where the A58x lacks charm. It features a dual-sensor setup that packs the 13MP and 2MP snappers into two individually mounted lenses. The phone measures 163.8 x 75.1 x 7.99mm and weighs just under 186 grams.
In addition to a 6.56-inch IPS display with a melting level, the new OPPO A model otherwise known as A58x 5G offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, a pixel density of 269 PPI, a maximum brightness of 600 nits, the speed of 90Hz refresh rate and entry-level 90Hz touch sampling rate. A Panda Glass coating protects it from minor scratches and drops.

Similar to the A58, the OPPO A58x 5G features MTK's Dimensity 700 engine clocked at 2.2GHz. It's a budget 5G chip and doesn't integrate a powerful GPU. Although it connects up to 6GB - 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and fast (128GB) UFS 2.2 read/write speeds. The phone kindly offers a micro SD slot.
Key features of this phone include an Android 12 skin on ColorOS 12.1, a fingerprint reader on the side, an 8MP selfie snapper, Bluetooth 5.3 technology, a USB-C port, dual speaker sound, 3.5mm audio output and support dual SIM. Under the box is a 5000mAh power bank rated for 33W charging. The handset will be available in Breeze Purple, Tranquil Blue and Star Black colors. The entry-level variant (128+6GB) costs just $173 or ~ PKR 39,000, slightly below the official retail price of the OPPO A57.
