| Samsung Galaxy A73 & Galaxy A33 OS update pending; OneUI 5.0 x Android 13 & October Patch |
Samsung is fast and rolling out the latest OneUI 5 x Android 13 on all eligible Galaxy S phones and some budget A-Line devices due to be released in 2022.
The Korean manufacturer's semi-flagships are the Galaxy A73 5G and the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A32, also known as the Galaxy A33. Initially, the chain plans to roll out the latest operating system in a few select regions, starting with Malaysia and Europe. Other areas will follow in the coming weeks, including Pakistan.
Supported by firmware versions "A736BXXU2BVK2" and "A336BXXU4BVJG", the latest OTA brings Google's essential features to A73 5G and Samsung Galaxy A33 5G.
Most importantly, it brings the October 2022 security patch with some UI adjustments. Unfortunately, the November patch has yet to arrive for both siblings.
A73 users in Malaysia and A33 users in Europe may already have the update available. Firstly, just tap on the “Settings” > “Software Updates” > “Download and Install” button to update the OS from Android 12 to 13. Once available, users from other global markets will receive a notification to start the update via the notification center.
The OTA takes up a limited storage space (2.0GB) and brings some notable improvements and feature enhancements.
The extensive list includes the Material You implementation, better-stacked widgets, and a new camera-generated OCR for wrapping text from live images. The new OneUI likewise presents a support mode that conceals your confidential information from professionals during fixes.
The Galaxy A73 4G feature map is the same as the global counterpart except for the chip. The 4G variant has an Exynos SoC at its heart, while the 5G model has an SD778G modem. A 120Hz screen refresh rate, AMOLED build, Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a 108MP primary camera are standard on both phones.

The Galaxy A33 has budget-oriented features; a Super AMOLED display, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 1080p display, a 48MP rear camera, a 13MP front camera, under-display biometrics and a 5000mAh battery.
