The Hollywood Reporter reports that at the recent Proper Daily Summit, Kim Kardashian expressed that storytelling was important to criminal justice reform.
Kim Kardashian spoke at the session, which featured a star-studded lineup including Uzo Aduba, Chrissy Teigen, BJ Novak and director and producer Scott Budnick.
The dialogue was intended to influence future screen stories and help maintain narrative authenticity. Scott Budnick and Kim Kardashian have long been advocates for prison reform after discovering how broken the system is, especially for people of color. Kardashian shared her thoughts on the importance of storytelling and criminal justice.
"I think storytelling is so important because people are always asking, 'How can you help?
What can you do?'" Kardashian added. "Someone once said to me, 'You are a Why are you working on the case?
Work on the policy. And I told them, 'If you don't put a face to this rap sheet and you don't understand' - people just want protection in the community, they want to Feel That.
he Added, " until You Hear Their Story, Until You Hear Where They Came From & Where they Are Now, If You Just Read A Piece Of Paper, You're Safe." That's why the storytelling aspect is so important to enable policy to move forward."
Kardashian also explained that she balances all of her activism work with her business and law school classes, "I have a rule where I'll take on 10 cases at a time and I really stick to that." Can't go above."
In an interview with Vogue, Kim revealed that she has been pursuing law since 2019. And, on December 13, 2021, Kim announced via her IG handle that she had passed the 'baby bar exam'.
