The 2022 Asia Cup will be held in UAE, with the final being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The organizers claimed that it was a temporary arrangement and they are confident that they would return to Sri Lanka if they get a World Cup spot as required by cricket. However, access politics and security issues forced them to move to UAE.
The Asean Football Federation had considered Sri Lanka's bid for the 2022 event, which included Colombo being chosen as the venue. But an investigation into alleged World Cup ticket touting led FIFA to rule out taking one of its most prestigious events back to southern Asia for the first time since 1978.
The Asian Cup is the biennial international football championship contested by participating national teams of Asia, a confederation of 52 sovereign states. The tournament has been held every two years since 1978, when the inaugural edition was organized by the AFC in Malaysia, with hosts Indonesia defeating Philippines 2-1 in the final.
It's a big deal to host a good World Cup as well as it will bring a lot of benefits. People from all over the world will come to UAE and make huge investment in this country so they can live better life in the future.
Why is the Asian Cup 2022 hosted in UAE? Sri Lanka doesn’t have enough facilities to host such an event and roads in Sri Lanka are not well developed. And India has a strong defence against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Asian Football Federation decided to invite UAE because they want the tournament to be held in Africa and that it is a region that supports football well.
It's a matter of time, Sri Lanka will not accept to host Asia cup 2022. The entire tournament winner's trophy have been bought by Sela Bhaya. To avoid bad vibes with India, India had considered to host it here in UAE
1. The Asian Games 2022 are to be held in the United Arab Emirates, not Sri Lanka. 2. Sri Lanka has a high number of tourists every year due to its tropical climate, which would render hosting the games difficult. 3. The UAE has more than adequate facilities for the Olympic Stadium and is cheaper to host than Sri Lanka.
The biggest reason would be the security factor. Sri Lanka is already teetering on the brink of another civil fight and has been unable to host a similar event in recent years. The 10 tournament games being played here are expected to be tense at best, with several matches potentially being held in high-risk environments such as hotels and temples.
The main reason for the Asia Cup 2022 to be held in UAE is that Sri Lanka has not yet met the required standard of hosting the world's biggest cricket tournament. And it will take another four years before host country Sri Lanka can fulfill all the requirements to host such a grand event.
Asia Cup 2022 will be hosted in the UAE instead of Sri Lanka, as the administrators of the Asian Cricket Council have unanimously decided to shift the event.

After Sri Lanka announced that they would be hosting this global soccer tournament, some disagreed with their decision. They have received criticisms by several sports fans who prefer Sri Lanka as a venue over UAE due to its closer proximity to Asia and cheaper prices.
The 2nd Asian Cricket Championship will be held in UAE from 9th to 24th March 2022. Sri Lanka will host this prestigious tournament next year. The country has a rich cricketing history but that is not the reason for which it would not be able to organize the tournament as per expectations. The reason for this is Indian government’s ban on Sri Lankan cricketers who participated in the Champions Trophy earlier this year."

This will be the first major international event to be played in the country since World battle II and it brings with it much excitement for cricket fans across the globe.
It’s a big moment for us. A massive delegation will visit Sri Lanka and make sure that it has everything ready for the seventh edition of Asia Cup 2022.
The team that won the Cup will get to host the next edition. It is an open invitation for all Asian nations to take part in this tournament.
