Meanwhile, Hezbollah has warned Israel against targeting Palestinian militants in Lebanon.

Three people were killed in a fresh attack by the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus in Palestine on Tuesday, while Hezbollah warned Israel against targeting Palestinian militants in Lebanon.

the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that three people were killed and dozens were injured in an attack by the Israeli army in Nablus.

The latest violence comes two days after fighting between Israel and Islamic Jihad in Gaza ended.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said 69 people were treated for gunshot wounds, at least four in critical condition.

The Israeli army says that a senior Palestinian commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Ibrahim al-Nablisi, was among those killed.

Israeli forces added that they have detained four suspects. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade said in a statement after the action: "This attack will be answered according to the crime committed."

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the dead as Nabulsi, Islam Sabuh and Hussain Taha.

Hussain's father, Jamal Taha, said his 16-year-old son was killed while he was on his way to work.

Heavy gunfire was heard in the Old City as dozens of Israeli military vehicles blocked traffic in the West Bank's largest city.

In other areas of the city, Palestinians threw stones at Israeli soldiers, leading to clashes. Many Palestinians were injured in the firing by the army.

Hezbollah's statement

Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, head of the Iranian-backed Lebanese movement Hezbollah, warned Israel on Tuesday that any attempt to target Palestinians in Lebanon would be dangerous,

In a televised address on the occasion of Ashura, Hassan Nasrallah said: "Any attack on anyone will be answered and will not go unpunished."

On Saturday, Israel's defense minister hinted at possible targeting of overseas Islamic Jihad operatives who he said could be "found in restaurants and hotels in Tehran, Syria and Lebanon."

The Israeli Defense Minister said that "they will also have to pay the price."

An Israeli minister said on Monday, a day after an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire in Gaza, that Israel could launch attacks "from Tehran to Khan Yunis" to protect its citizens and its sovereignty.
