A Swedish national has been detained in Iran on suspicion of spying, but a report issued on Saturday did not specify the man's name.
Iran's official news agency Islamic Republic News Agency. (IRNA) has confirmed the arrest of the Swedish citizen in the report.
Citing a statement from the ministry, the official news agency has said in the report that there was no explanation about when the arrest of the Swedish citizen took place.
The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs says about the arrest of this person.
"We are aware of this and have been working to get the details for some time," a Swedish Foreign Ministry spokesperson explained in an emailed comment.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, it is not clear whether this person is a citizen of Sweden, and his arrest was not reported by Iran.

Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that the suspect has been under intelligence surveillance and has visited Iranian cities several times in recent times.
His suspicious behavior and connections do not match tourism in any way.
The suspect also had a history of traveling to the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel before his arrival in Iran.
It should be noted that relations between Sweden and Iran have been strained since then.
When Sweden detained a former Iranian official for crimes in the 1980s and prosecuted him for mass executions and torture of political prisoners in an Iranian prison.
The Swedish court has sentenced a man named Hamid Nouri to life imprisonment on July 14, while Iran has condemned the decision, saying that it is politically motivated and there is no legal basis for this sentence.
In addition, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has protested the sentence of Hamid Nouri by summoning the Swedish governor in Tehran.
It should be noted that in recent years, Iranian security forces have arrested dozens of foreigners and citizens with dual citizenship on various charges related to espionage.
