American national security adviser Jack Sullivan has said that the United States believes that a Russian official delegation recently visited an airfield in Iran to test and observe missile-carrying drones.

The United States at the beginning of this week said that we have information indicating that Iran is preparing to supply several hundred drones to Russia.

Iranian drones include some aircraft that are capable of carrying weapons, and Tehran is also preparing to train Russian troops in the use of these drones.

It should be noted that Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has denied any such information.

Jack Sullivan has added in his statement that as far as we know, this is the first time that a Russian delegation has visited an Iranian airfield to see drones.

The US National Security Adviser's statement also included satellite images from June 8 showing Iranian drones that were seen by the Russian delegation that day.

Talking to his counterpart on the phone, he dismissed as baseless the American accusations about sending Iranian drones to Russia for use in the fight against Ukraine.

Iran, which has supplied unmanned drones to its allies in the Middle East, announced the deployment of its first naval drone division in the Indian Ocean last Friday on the occasion of US President Joe Biden's visit to the Middle East.

Russia is working effectively with Iran and we are working towards a more integrated, more stable, more peaceful and prosperous Middle East region, the senior official said on Saturday.
