A passenger plane of Indian Airlines SpiceJet en route to Dubai from New Delhi has made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport.
According to sources, the captain had requested for an emergency landing at Karachi Airport.
After getting permission, the Indian plane made an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport at 9.30 am.
A civil aviation spokesman added that the passengers had been transferred to the transit lounge.
"There are 150 passengers on board," he said. The lounge is being manned for the sake of the passengers.
According to the spokesman, the engineers are inspecting the engine of the plane and trying to rectify the problem.
"After the report of the aircraft engineers, the plane will be given clearance for flight." A SpiceJet spokesperson said that the flight from Delhi to Dubai landed at Karachi Airport due to a fault in the indicator light.
The plane has been safely landed at Karachi airport and the passengers have also been evacuated.
The plane landed as usual. The spokesman added that another plane had been sent to Karachi to take the passengers to their destination.
No technical fault was reported in the plane. Passengers have been humiliated at the airport.
