The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sent a 30-ton food aid plane to the victims of a devastating earthquake in Afghanistan, according to the state-run Wam news agency.

Air, food, medicine and medical supplies have been launched to help the quake victims.

The quake killed at least 1,500 people and injured hundreds more in Afghanistan.

It continues as Afghan authorities seek medical supplies, food and shelter for thousands of people affected by the country's deadliest earthquake in decades.
