Oslo shooting Suspect is of Iranian descent

According to a police spokesman, 14 people were provided medical assistance while eight people were admitted to the hospital.

At least two people have been killed and 14 others injured in a shooting at a nightclub in and around the Norwegian capital, Oslo, police say.

"He is a Norwegian citizen of Iranian descent and was previously wanted by the police for petty crimes." 

Police also seized two weapons from the attacker. A police spokesman, Tor Brested, said 14 people had been treated and eight had been hospitalized. 

"They saw a man coming with a bag," he told NRK. He pulled out his weapon and started firing.

Police say they also seized two weapons from the attacker.

Christian Bradley, who was at the bar at the time, told the Norwegian newspaper VG that he had hid on the fourth floor with ten other people. 

"Many people were scared for their safety," he said. On the way out we saw several wounded. 

That is why we understand that a serious incident has taken place. 

”It should be noted that Norway is a relatively safe country but it has faced violent attacks by right-wing extremists. 

In 2011, 69 people were killed by a gunman in Norway. It was the worst shooting in Europe. 

In 2019, a right-wing extremist shot dead his half-sister in a mosque but was caught by police before any damage could be done.
