In Madhya Pradesh, two people were killed after being accused of killing a cow

The Congress party has demanded immediate investigation into the incident and action against those involved.

In the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, two tribesmen have been tortured to death by a mob on suspicion of slaughtering a cow. 

According to police, 20 people went to the houses of the tribesmen and accused them of slaughtering cows, after which they were brutally tortured. 

As a result of the violence, both the persons were seriously injured and died on the way to the hospital. 

They demanded immediate action against the accused. 

A police officer from Seoni district and other officials have visited the houses of the tribesmen. 

Police said that a case has been registered in this regard in which 20 persons have been named.

Additional Superintendent of Police SK Maravi said that 15 to 20 people allegedly went to the houses of the tribesmen and accused them of slaughtering cows. 

"Both were seriously injured in the mob violence and died on the way to the hospital." 

He said that a case of the incident has been registered and a police team is conducting raids to nab the accused. 

He further said that the police have so far arrested three accused. 

The plaintiff, Burgess Bati, who was also injured in the attack, said the mob tortured the two men who died in the attack. 

Madhya Pradesh Congress leader and former chief minister Kamal Nath has demanded immediate action against the accused and a high level inquiry into the incident.
