US President Joe Biden has spoken to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Russia's invasion of Ukraine via video link.

The virtual meeting will also discuss the outcome of the Biden-Ukraine conflict, and how to reduce the effects of the conflict on food supplies and commodities markets. 

It should be noted that despite pressure from the West, India is buying oil and gas from Russia to meet its energy needs. 

India has recently bought an air defense system from Russia, on the basis of which the United States is considering imposing sanctions on India. 

Last month, India's state-owned Indian Oil Corps bought 3 million barrels of crude oil from Russia.

Apart from India, several allied countries, including Germany, continue to import oil from Russia despite pressure.
