What does the meeting of the United States and four Arab countries in Israel mean for India?

Relations between Israel and the Arab world have been improving over the past few years. An important conference of the four Arab countries is now being held in Israel, in which US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken has also arrived in Israel.

The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Egypt are attending the conference. For the first time, Israel is hosting a meeting of senior officials from so many Arab countries.

The meeting is taking place in the Israeli desert region of Negev, and is expected to discuss nuclear talks with Iran and the ongoing invade in Ukraine.

The United States wants the support of Arab countries in trying to isolate Russia.

But many Middle Eastern countries are not in favor of tougher sanctions on Russia because they fear it could affect wheat imports.

This is the first time that Israel is hosting such a historic summit. It shows how common interests are bringing together US allies in the Middle East.

The meeting with the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt and the United States will be attended by Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.

Calling the meeting an important occasion, Harinder Mishra, a Jerusalem-based journalist based in Jerusalem, said: "This timing is very important because (relations) in the Middle East are taking on new lines. There is chaos in all of America's allies, especially after the US decision on Afghanistan. These people began to feel insecure in a way. From this point of view, this meeting is very important, especially since the United States is also involved.

"The Secretary of State can be seen reassuring all of these countries that he stands by them," he said. The meeting will also discuss economic activities and the protection of energy resources.

"The strategic importance of this meeting cannot be underestimated," says Harinder Mishra. Because in a way, the United States is losing its credibility in the Middle East, and this meeting suggests that it wants to unite all countries.

" This is so important to Israel that it has for decades been pursuing independent relations with other countries in the region that transcend the Palestinian cause. From this point of view, Israel has achieved great success.

The symbolic significance of the meeting is that it is taking place in the city of Negev, the birthplace of David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first prime minister. It is said that Israel wants to take all the guests to the memorial of David Ben-Gurion, but it is not yet included in the program.

Why is this important to the United States?

At the moment, the risk of an energy crisis due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict is very high. In addition, rising oil prices on the world market is an issue on which all Middle Eastern countries, especially Saudi Arabia and other allies, can play a key role.

But even though the issue of Ukraine and Russia is currently the most debated issue, the issue of Iran is also very important for Israel. The nuclear deal with Iran and its allies is important for all the countries participating in this summit because they see it from a security point of view.

"The United States is said to be softening on the nuclear deal, but Israeli media are of the opinion that the United States will reassure these countries that the allies will not be bothered because the United States has not succeeded in its nuclear program anyway," Mishra said. Will let it happen

Similarities between Israel and India

This conference is also very important for Israel. Harinder Mishra says that in the case of Russia and Ukraine, "Israel is in the same crisis as India." It is difficult for both countries to choose their own path. Despite being a close ally of the United States, Israel is trying to act as a mediator because it knows that Russia cannot be ignored.

Given today's situation, Russia has the potential to destabilize the Middle East. Russia's presence in Syria could have a devastating effect on Israel. Israel is in the same situation as India but it is trying not to upset the United States in any way and it should do something that can play a positive role between the two countries. Israel appears to be in favor of the United States, but it is not entirely against Russia

Does this meeting have anything to do with India?

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will visit India next week, but before that on March 30, Israeli Defense Minister will also visit India.

According to Harinder Mishra, "it is also being said that Israel and other countries participating in this summit consider India as number one among its wider neighbors."

If you note, when Indian Foreign Minister SJ Shankar visited Israel in October last year, a quad-like alliance was formed here as well. It was said that this was purely from an economic point of view. US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken also attended. UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan was also present. The quad alliance includes the United States, Israel, India and the United Arab Emirates. After that, there was talk of increasing economic cooperation.

India already has good relations with these Arab countries and Israel is also improving its relations with them, so it is clear that this meeting can be beneficial for India in future also and is very important. Is.
