Tech entrepreneur and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk took a jibe at a number of artificial intelligence (AI) companies Sunday calling them the opposite of their name, including Open AI, Stability AI, and Meta.

A user Eliezer Yudkowsky uploaded a post on X — formerly called Twitter — about AI companies saying: "Just memorize these key AI facts to avoid confusion: OpenAI is closed, Stability AI is unstable Meta AI isn't meta, and "Doomers" are the anti-doom faction."

Elon Musk while responding to the post wrote: "Any given AI company is the opposite of its name."

The 52-year-old billionaire was referring to ChatGPT maker OpenAI, Facebook’s parent company Meta, and another company Stability AI based in London, UK.

At the beginning of this month, Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against ChatGPT maker OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman accusing the startup of abandoning the fundamental mission of making AI beneficial for humanity instead of generating profits.

The remarks come as the man behind Starship has also been raising alarm about how AI is an existential threat to humanity.

He parted ways with OpenAI in 2018 and established his own start-up with the name xAI last year.

In his lawsuit against Open AI, Musk said that "Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman originally approached him to make an open source AI."

According to Musk, OpenAI's three founders originally agreed to work on artificial general intelligence (AGI) but in a way that would "benefit humanity."
