Helicopter crashes at school in Ukraine; 18 killed including children and ministers

Kyiv: A helicopter on emergency duty crashed in Brovary, Ukraine, killing 18 and injuring 29. 

Ukraine's rescue helicopter was carrying nine people, including the interior minister and two senior government officials, and flew to an undisclosed destination. 

The helicopter crashed to the ground shortly after takeoff. Along with all the people on board the helicopter where the helicopter crashed, 7 other people lost their lives. 

There were many civilians and children at the site where the helicopter crashed, so 3 children died in the accident while 15 children were among the 29 injured. 

State media initially said the helicopter crashed near an elementary school, but later said the helicopter crashed near a daycare center where a large number of children were staying. 

It is also said that the helicopter first crashed into an elementary school and then crashed into a nearby building, which was completely destroyed and burst into flames. 

The cause of the helicopter crash has not yet been determined, but at the time of the crash it was dark and visibility was limited due to fog.
