6 US states have laws requiring composting of bodies after death

The body is stored for one month with specific links for composting.
New York becomes the sixth US state to compost after death.

According to British media reports, the governor of New York has passed a law to turn a person's body into natural compost after death. According to this law, the last rites of the deceased can be performed by composting and not by burial or cremation.

During this process, after death, the human body is kept in a container with special ingredients for at least a month, after which it turns into natural compost.

After the process of turning the body into compost is completed, it is given to the relatives of the deceased, who use the compost to grow plants, trees and vegetables.
