The Israeli army killed a Palestinian youth in the West Bank

Israeli forces shot dead a 23-year-old man and wounded five others during clashes in the occupied West Bank on Thursday morning.

According to the US news agency Associated Press, Palestinian medical experts said that a Palestinian youth, Ahmed Dargama, was seriously injured in a shootout between Palestinian militants and Israeli soldiers.

In the Palestinian city of Nablus, Israeli soldiers escorted Jewish worshipers as guards to an area known as the Biblical Tomb of Joseph.

On that occasion, during the recording of an amateur video recorded by Palestinian citizens from the windows of their houses, a gunshot was heard.

Ahmad Dargama was from the nearby town of Tuba and was a player on the town's local soccer team, although it was unclear whether he took part in the clashes with Israeli soldiers.

There was no immediate comment from Israeli security forces on the incident.

About 150 Palestinians and 31 Israelis have been killed in clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem this year.

According to official figures, 2022 will be the deadliest year since 2006. The Israeli spokesman says most of the dead in the various incidents were Palestinian militants, but youths who threw stones at security forces and some people who were not involved in these operations.
