Najam Sethi appointed Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee

The way for Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja to step down has been paved. Pakistan Cricket Board model chief Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has submitted the brief to the federal cabinet to repeal the PCB constitution of 2019 and restore the constitution of 2014. It is.

According to the prime minister's summary, in addition to the restoration of the 2014 constitution, a 14-member steering committee headed by former PCB chairman Najam Sethi was also appointed.

According to the summary available in Urdu News, the 2014 Constitution was recommended to be restored while Najam Sethi was appointed as the Chairman of the Mangemeet Committee.

If the 2014 PCB Constitution is reinstated, the existing Pakistan Cricket Board Executive Board will be disbanded and the Cricket Department will be reinstated.

It should be noted that in 2018, after taking office, Imran Khan changed the PCB constitution and restricted the concept of regional cricket to 6 regions instead of departmental cricket in the domestic cricket structure.

Sources say that the prime minister will approve in a circular summary the restoration of the 2014 constitution and the new steering committee.

Along with Najam Sethi, former captain Shahid Afridi and former women's cricket team captain Sana Mir have also been appointed to the management committee.

In addition, former cricketers Haroon Rashid and Shafqat Rana were added to the Administrative Committee, while former Board of Governors members Shakeel Sheikh and Nauman Butt were also appointed.

According to sources, the Management Committee has been proposed to implement the 2014 Constitution, which covers the day-to-day affairs of the Board of Governors.

The Management Committee will be given the responsibility to form the Board of Governors within three months, while the Prime Minister of Pakistan has the power to extend the time allotted to the Committee.
