The Moroccan Football Federation has complained to FIFA about the referee's "wrong decisions" during the World Cup semi-final match between France and Morocco. was defeated by

The Morocco Football Federation said in a statement that Mexico referee Cesar Ramos did not award Morocco a free kick in the first half of the game when French player Theo Hernandez fouled Moroccan player Sofiane Boufal.

Instead of granting Morocco a free kick for the foul, the referee gave Boufal a yellow card, according to the statement. The Football Federation of Morocco says even after the substitute was sent off, match officials didn't even look at him.

"The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has written to the relevant authority to review the referee's decisions that resulted in Morocco missing two penalties, which many Sechelist referees considered to be penalties," read the statement.

"We are surprised that even the video assistant referee could not react in time in this situation." It should be noted that the Moroccan team will play against Croatia for the bronze medal on Saturday. Contrary to expectations, Morocco reached the semifinals by beating Belgium. Defeat the strong teams from Spain and Portugal.

If Morocco manage to defeat Croatia in the third-place play-off, it will be the first time an African team has won a bronze medal at a FIFA World Cup.
