Giant aquarium collapses in Germany, thousands of rare fish on the way

A million liters of water and thousands of rare fish have spilled onto the streets after a giant aquarium exploded in Berlin. According to Reuters, the incident happened in a neighborhood called Mitte, prompting people to call the emergency number.

According to the report, numerous rescue workers rushed to the site after the information. The aquarium was reportedly called the "Aquadome" and was located in an entertainment complex at the Radisson Hotel.

In addition to the museum, there was also an aquarium in which there were strange and rare species of fish that traveled from far away to see them. The glass aquarium was considered the largest aquarium in the world. It was circular and stood vertically and was 64 meters high.

Sandra Visser, a woman who was at the hotel at the time of the incident, told Reuters she "suddenly heard the sound of the aquarium breaking and then only saw destruction, debris and dead fish".

The spokesman of Union Investment says that about one and a half thousand fish died in the aquarium.

He said efforts are being made to save the remaining fish by moving them to other water tanks inside the building, but they are facing serious difficulties as the building's electricity was cut off after the accident. The spokesman told Reuters that it was not yet clear why and how the aquarium collapsed.
