When do Windows 7 clients lose Google Chrome support?

Google has announced that it will end support for Chrome Browser for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 in early 2023.

Google will finally release version Chrome 110 for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 operating systems on February 7, 2023.

This will be the last version of Google Chrome to support both of Microsoft's older operating systems.

The Google support page mentioned this and needless to say this is a fairly important update.

Windows 7 was introduced in 2009 and Microsoft ended support for it in 2020.

Despite this, many computers still run on this operating system.

A 2021 report estimates that at least 100 million computers have Windows 7 installed.

This means that very soon millions of people will be using operating systems and web browsers that lack security or other support, posing a major security risk.

After February 7th, Google Chrome will continue to work on Windows 7 or 8.1, but there will be no updates.

A simple solution is to update the computer from Windows 11 or 10 to keep the operating system security up to date.

There will also be the possibility to use the new functions of Chrome.
