INDIA: Odor in cockpit after bird strike, plane diverted back to Mumbai

A flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru in India had to be diverted back to Mumbai airport after a bird collision with the plane caused a foul smell in the cockpit. 

Indian news channel reported Civil Aviation according to NDTV. An Akasa Air flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru had to be diverted back to Mumbai due to a burning smell in the cockpit, an official said. That a bird had hit the plane. The remains of the bird were found in engine number one of the ship.

The officer said that no other malfunctions were found in the plane. Akasa Air is a new airline that started domestic operations in August this year. The airline had its first flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. 

This was followed by flights to Chennai, Kochi and Bengaluru. According to news agency ANI, akasa Air's fleet will reach 18 by March 2023, with another 54 added after that. After that, the total number of flats will be 72.
