The United States Federal Investigation Agency (FBI) has recovered 11 files of important documents, some of which were marked 'Top Secret', during the search of former President Donald Trump's house.

The U.S. Department of Justice has said the search of the former president's home was in violation of the Espionage Act.

The disclosure comes four days after an FBI raid that was granted a search warrant by a U.S. magistrate judge.

The warrant issued for the raid and search of the former president's home cited the Espionage Act, which makes it a crime to release information that could harm national security.

A statement released on the platform said that 'all records were declassified' meaning they had already been made public and kept in a 'secure location'.

The former president belonging to the Republican Party said that he did not need to raid the house and do politics, but he could take them whenever he wanted.

They were not required to seize anything.

The search was part of an investigation into whether Trump illegally removed documents when he left office, the Justice Department previously said.

Some of these are classified documents that are kept secret.

President Joe Biden's nominee, Attorney General Mark Garland, said in a press conference that he himself authorized the search of Donald Trump's home.
