A man who died last month in Jackson, California, is suspected of keeping his father's body at home to use his money, police say.
According to the authorities of the American state of California, a decomposed body was found in a chair in a house, which had been in this condition for several years.

Randall Freer, 63, a business owner in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, died, Calaveras County Sheriff Greg Stark's office said in a statement.
A sheriff's deputy went to their home in Vallas, California to notify the family, where they heard a fan running and saw a dead man sitting in a comfortable chair.
According to Lt. Stark, evidence at the scene indicated that the body had been in the same location for several years.
He told the Los Angeles Times that "the body was in a very decomposed state and parts of its structure remained."
"During my 28 years of legal service, this type of research has been extremely rare. "We don't normally find an individual who has been dead for such a long time inside a dwelling."
Calaveras County Coroner Kevin Raggio identified the man in the home as 91-year-old Ida Clinton Freer, the father of Randall Freer.
Authorities say his cause of death is not suspicious and they expect it to be medically related.
According to investigators, Ida Freer last signed checks in 2016, after which her sons continued to receive money from her account until her death.
"The son assumed the identity of the dead father and I suspect that he was living with his father and living off his wealth," says Raghav.
When they saw their dead father, they left the body on the chair and used his money for themselves. He could not say that his father had died because of the use of money, so he continued to use the money he received for social security and retirement.
After such a long time had passed, everyone had forgotten him. He was there for many years and if his son was alive, this body would still be sitting there.'
