Russia is using a phosphorus bomb that killed 21 people in a building attack in Ukraine

It also attacked an amusement park in Ukraine on Friday, killing three people

Ukraine's military has accused Russia of using phosphorus bombs in attacks, while the death toll from a missile attack on a residential building in Odessa has risen to 21. 

The French news agency AFP quoted Ukrainian officials as saying that Russian planes had twice attacked the land island, also known as Snack Island, on Friday, while Russian troops withdrew from the island on the same day.

A few days ago, the Russian military also fired missiles at a shopping center in Kremenchok, killing at least 18 civilians. 

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied that Russian troops were responsible for the attacks. 

The region of Odessa in southern Ukraine is considered strategically important. It is also home to Ukraine's historic port, Odessa Port. 

On Thursday, Russian troops evacuated their positions on Snack Island. The area is located off the coast of Odessa, a symbol of Ukraine's resistance in the early days of the conflict.

The United States and the West are currently backing Ukraine, while Ukraine has been given the status of a candidate for EU membership.
