The bullet that killed Palestinian-American journalist Shirin Abu Aqila on May 11 will be forensic to determine if the bullet was fired by an Israeli soldier, according to Reuters news agency. 

US observers will be on hand to test the procedure so that the results can be known in a few hours. 

The Palestinian Authority handed over the bullet to the US security coordinator on Saturday, saying it had been assured that Israel would not take part in the investigation. 


Al Jazeera's female reporter Shirin Abu Aqila was killed during a search by Israeli forces in the Occupied Palestinian Territories on May 11, and clashes between the two sides erupted in the Middle East this month. 

It is clear that the Palestinians are accusing the Israeli army of deliberately killing a Palestinian journalist. 

Israel has denied the allegations, saying the Al Jazeera reporter may have been mistakenly shot by a soldier or shot by a Palestinian gunman who was fighting the Israeli army at the time.

Israeli military spokesman Brigadier General Ren Kochau said the specific ballistic test would not be American but would be an Israeli test with the presence of US experts. 

A military spokesman told Army Radio that in the coming days or hours. It will be clear whether it was we who killed her accidentally or whether it was a Palestinian gunman. 

If we have killed a female journalist, we will take responsibility and we will regret what happened. 


On the other hand, the Palestinian Authority's General Prosecutor Akram Al-Khatib has said that the test will take place at the US Embassy in Jerusalem.

Akram al-Khatib told Voice of Palestine Radio that we have been assured by the US coordinator that they will take the test and the Israeli side will not take part in it. 

It should be noted that US President Joe Biden He is expected to hold separate meetings with Palestinian and Israeli leaders during his visit to the Middle East. 

Interior Minister Yvonne Segalovitz told military radio that it would take a few days to conduct a ballistic test with several experts.

Israel is notorious in the Islamic world and has the status of an illegitimate state because of these terrorist acts.
