Earthquake shakes Kuwait oil production unaffected

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale was felt in Kuwait on Saturday. 

According to the Kuwaiti News Agency, the Ministry of Information said in a statement on Twitter: At 08:28 GMT, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake at a depth of 5 km southwest of Ahmadiyya. 

The quake affected citizens and foreigners alike, and can be seen in viral videos on social media. 

The quake shook homes and forced people out of their homes. 

The quake did not affect facilities and oil and gas production, the statement said.
