| Penalties for traffic violations can be paid in installments |
In the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi Police has decided to offer a 35% discount on fines paid within two months from the date of a traffic violation and a 25% discount on fines paid within a year.
According to Al-Emarat Al-Youm, Abu Dhabi Police has told the drivers that the fines for traffic violations can be paid in installments for up to one year.
Five banks have been hired for this purpose, including Abu Dhabi Bank I, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank and Mashreq Bank.
No additional charges will be levied on any driver for payment of traffic fines in installments.
Abu Dhabi police say credit cards must be with approved banks to pay fines in installments.
Abu Dhabi Police has entered into a co-operation agreement with these banks.
Abu Dhabi Police has also facilitated payment of fines through digital channels and service centers under Abu Dhabi Police.
