A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and injuring 10 people at a Brooklyn subway station in New York City.

Law enforcement officials said the suspect had asked police to come and arrest him, after which he was charged with terrorism. Frank R. James, 62, was taken into custody about 30 hours after the shooting at a crowded station.

"My fellow New Yorkers," said Mayor Eric Adams. We caught him. In recent months, James has shared videos on his YouTube channel about racism, violence in the United States and his struggle with mental health in New York City.

In the videos, he criticized Mayor Eric Adams' policies on mental health and subway safety.

The motive for the subway attack has not yet been determined, and there is no indication that James has any links to terrorist organizations.

Frank R. James is being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center.

Police released the name and photo of the accused and appealed to the public to help in his search.

Two law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: "James called and said he knew he was wanted. Police could find him at a McDonald's in the East Manhattan neighborhood.

"James was gone when the officers arrived, but he was soon spotted standing on a corner nearby," said Kenneth Corey, the department's chief of staff.

According to Police Commissioner Kechant Seoul, James had no place to flee.
