Karachi: International Cancer Awareness Day is celebrated on February 4th around the world including Pakistan. 

According to a press release from the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), 178,000 new cancer cases were registered in Pakistan last year and about 100,000 people died from cancer. 

Under the auspices of PIMA, cancer awareness programs are organized nationwide. 

The PIMA webinar, which will be streamed live on Facebook at 9:00 p.m., will feature the country's leading medical experts in the field of cancer care. 

Central President Pima Dr. Abdul Aziz Memon, Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Dr. Iftikhar Barni and Dr. Abdul Rashid Wahab says cancer is a curable disease. With timely diagnosis and thorough treatment, a deadly disease like cancer can be cured. 

Medical experts point out that the risk of cancer can be reduced with a healthy diet and an active lifestyle.
