According to the World News Agency, earthquake shocks were felt in Indonesia and the Philippines, causing panic among residents of coastal areas and citizens who fled their homes.
The Indonesian geophysical agency said the epicenter was 141 kilometers southeast of the city of Milongwane at a depth of 64 kilometers. Then came 10 aftershocks.
A statement issued by the Geophysical Agency said there was no tsunami threat and the US-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center had lifted the previous tsunami warning.
In Indonesia, many houses were damaged and citizens came out of their homes and gathered in the open field. Fortunately there were no injuries.
According to the Philippine Seismological Agency, the tremors were felt in the southern regions of the country, which were less intense than in Indonesia. No casualties were reported in the magnitude 6 earthquake.
