Riyadh/Moscow: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called Russian President Vladimir Putin for stability in the global oil market.
According to the World News Agency, in a telephone conversation between the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Russian president, it was agreed that the members of the Organization of the Oil Producing Countries "OPEC" will work together for the stability of the global oil market.
According to Saudi media, in this important discussion, the two leaders also agreed to further boost bilateral trade, economic and energy cooperation and recommended at the OPEX meeting on February 1 to maintain the current oil production policy.
On the other hand, the Russian media say that President Putin and the Saudi crown prince have consulted on the decisions to be taken at the OPEX meeting within the global scenario and have taken each other into confidence.
The talks between the two leaders also gained momentum amid OPEC's cut in oil production targets last year, sparking friction between the US and Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan dismissed the US pressure, reminding the Biden administration this month that the stability in current oil prices proves that Saudi Arabia made the right decision last year.
