Kuwait's Ministry of Health has decided to impose new drug fees for foreigners staying in public clinics and hospitals.
According to Akhbar 24, the Ministry of Health of Kuwait, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, issued an order to collect drug fees from foreign patients registered in the health insurance system.
The Minister of Health of Kuwait took this decision in order to improve the quality of health services, prevent drug waste and control drug shortages.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi said in the order that "five dinars will be charged for the delivery of medicines to expatriates from the pharmacies of each primary health care center."
Five dinars are paid for supplying immigrants with drugs from the hospital's pharmacy in an emergency. 10 dinars are paid for the purchase of drugs from the OPD pharmacy.
Kuwait's Ministry of Health says that in addition to the new fee, if you go to the primary health center, there will be a fee of two dinars for the health check.
The health examination fee of 10 dinars is paid upon approaching the emergency room or OPD at the hospital. It should be noted that the number of foreigners in Kuwait is 3.4 million.
