Sydney Thunder terminates Afghan footballer Fazal Haq Farooqui contract over abuse

Australian Big Bash League (BBL) club Sydney Thunder have terminated the contract of Afghan fast bowler Fazal Haq Farooqui following an incident of "abuse". 

Sydney Thunder has decided to terminate Fazal Haq Farooqui's contract after Cricket Australia investigated an incident. 

According to the Cricket Australia website, the Afghan fast bowler has had his contract terminated due to the December 15 "abuse" incident. 

According to Cricket Australia, following an investigation into the incident, the conduct officer announced a decision against Fazal Haq Farooqui, with Sydney Thunder terminating the fast bowler's contract. 

In this regard, Cricket New South Wales chief executive Lee German said that "Fazal Haq Farooqui's behavior goes against our values, which is why we have terminated his contract. 

Le German added: "Our focus now is to support those affected by this incident." had played in which he had taken two wickets, making 20 runs. 

According to Cricket Australia, details of the incident are being kept confidential and management of Cricket Australia and Sydney Thunder will not comment further.
