After forcing Instagram, Facebook and other social networks to follow suit, Tik Tok is now working on plans to enter YouTube.
We recall that in September 2021, Tik Tok said that the number of its users has exceeded one billion worldwide.
That is why the company is constantly working on new functions, some of which are directly comparable to YouTube.
One such new feature is being worked on by Tik Tok, which will enable watching landscape videos in full screen like YouTube on the phone.
This feature is being tested on a limited number of users worldwide.
The company confirmed in a statement that users selected to test the feature will see a button in their feed alongside regular videos.
When users click this button, the video switches to landscape mode and expands to full screen mode.
Known for short vertical videos, TikTok avoids creating landscape-oriented videos.
But landscape videos can be created after this new feature.
The feature is currently being tested, so it's hard to say when it will be available to all users.
Before that, in 2022, Tik Tok increased the length of videos from 3 minutes to 10 minutes.
As of 2020, children and teenagers are spending more time on TikTok than YouTube, and that's why this social network is rising against Google's service.
