2023 Happy New Year launch in New Zealand and Australia


Sydney/Auckland: Australia and New Zealand welcomed 2023 on December 31 at midnight with a spectacular fireworks display. 

The first country to welcome the New Year is New Zealand, where Auckland and other cities welcome the New Year at midnight. 

Later, a spectacular fireworks display was displayed at the Opera House and Barbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia to mark the arrival of the New Year and as the clock struck twelve, people sang joyful songs to welcome the New Year. 


With that, the fireworks started and the sky shone with color and light. According to international media reports, 1 million locals and foreign tourists took part in New Year's celebrations in Australia. 

After some time, the New Year is celebrated in other countries, including South Korea, Japan, while in the country, according to Pakistani time, the New Year already starts at 00:00. 

Meanwhile, the Malaysian government has canceled the Dataran Merdeka New Year celebrations in Kuala Lumpur after floods across the country left thousands homeless and landslides killed 31 people. 



China has also canceled Lunar New Year celebrations and ordered citizens not to gather in one place due to the coronavirus outbreak, causing discontent among people. 

"This virus just needs to go away and die," said a citizen from eastern Shandong province. ". 

In addition, Chinese citizens hoped that the New Year would herald a return to life in China before the pandemic.
